Windsor mother facing child abandonment charges

 

A Windsor woman is facing child abandonment charges, states the Amherstburg Police Service.

Police logo-webThe 36-year-old Windsor woman has been charged with four counts of Abandoning a Child under the Criminal Code of Canada.

According to police, the accused attended Shooters Roadhouse, located at 17 Sandwich Street North in Amherstburg, in the late hours of Saturday, July 6 and early morning hours of July 7. The women allegedly left her four children between the ages of 2 and 9 in a parked car unsupervised for a few hours while police claim “she drank and partied in the bar.”

A concerned citizen noticed the children the car alone and called the police, stated Amherstburg police, adding that the Windsor/Essex County Children’s Aid Society have been involved.

The accused will appear in court on Tuesday, August 6.
