The WECSSAA girls hockey all-star game was held last Wednesday afternoon at the Libro Centre with girls from across Windsor-Essex County hitting the ice representing their schools. Players from St. Anne, Harrow, L’Essor, Tecumseh Vista Academy, St. Joseph, Massey, and Holy Names made up “Team Blue” while “Team Green” was made up of players from General Amherst, St. Thomas of Villanova, Cardinal Carter, Sandwich, Belle River, Essex and Lajeunesse.

The game ended in a 7-7 tie with Amherst’s Savannah Bouzide tying the game late. Lady Gens goalie Megan Wismer also made a key save to keep the game tied in the dying seconds.

General Amherst coaches Scott Hamelin and Dan Pettypiece coached “Team Green” while Villanova coach John Purdie was one of the key organizers of the event.
