Two televisions taken in home B&E

 

 

The Amherstburg Police Service reports that a home in the 4300 block of Concession 4 South was entered last Tuesday.

Police say that the home was entered sometime during the day and two televisions were stolen. There are no suspects at this time. Police say the home was locked and that there was forced entry into the home.

Fraud   Amherstburg police say a 25-year-old Amherstburg woman was charged with theft and fraud for allegedly stealing a cheque from a neighbour’s mail and cashing it. The matter reportedly took place on Concession 6 North.

The matter was reported to police last Tuesday.

Vehicle theft   A pick-up truck was reported stolen Sunday, with police saying the theft took place the previous night. A 2002 grey Dodge Dakota went missing from the 9600 block of Walker Road, police say.

Accident   One person was taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Howard Ave. and Alma St. last Wednesday. Police say around 9:10 p.m., a 53-year-old female from Woodslee was eastbound in a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu on Alma St. and allegedly crossed Howard Ave., into the path of a southbound Saturn driven by a 23-year-old Harrow man.  The 53-year-old female was charged with start from stopped position not in safety. It is not clear as of press time which of the drivers was transported to hospital.

 

Stats   There were 2013 total calls for service last week with 52 traffic-related charges.
