The healthy snack program at St. Bernard School received a shot in the arm thanks to the school’s Catholic Schools Advisory Program (CSAC).

CSAC chair Anne Fox donated a cheque in the amount of $900 to the school recently. Fox, an employee at BMO Bank of Montreal, said the bank has a volunteer grant program where employees can apply for funding for volunteer organizations they are a part of.

Fox and Karen Davidson, manager of the Amherstburg branch, were at the school to make the cheque presentation to principal Marisa Wismer.

“It’s going to our healthy snack program, which is great,” commented Wismer.

Wismer said the school distributes healthy snacks to students three times per week and also has a breakfast program which goes all week.
