The Amherstburg Santa Claus Parade got a shot in the arm thanks to the company that developed one of the solar farms in Amherstburg.

Cynthia Lockrey, senior community relations advisor with Enbridge, said the company is glad to work in this community.

“We love working with the Amherstburg community,” said Lockrey.

Lockrey said Enbridge partnered with the town last year for many of the War of 1812 bicentennial events.

“The community has been so welcoming and warm,” she stated.

Enbridge enjoys giving back to the communities they go into, Lockrey added, and they want a particular focus on family events. The company developed the Amherstburg Solar Farm on Concession 3 North.

“The Santa Claus Parade is a great fit,” said Lockrey.

Dave Grimaldi accepted the cheque on behalf of the Windsor Parade Corporation.

The $1,000 will assist in the operating of the parade. He said the hope is to include some inflatables as part of this year’s parade.

Getting donations helps the Windsor Parade Corporation keep parades “fresh,” he stated.

“With sponsors like this, it certainly helps,” said Grimaldi.
