while the older juniors and seniors played on Sunday.

AMSA President Lisa Dennis said the season went very well this year, with over 500 kids registered.

Dennis also was very happy with the amount of volunteers who helped out this year.

“We had some wonderful volunteers this year” Dennis said. “Participation is key and everybody did a great job.”

One of those volunteers was Natalie Borrelli, a coach for her son Robbie’s Squirt division team, as well as convenor for the entire Squirt division.

“I just want the kids to enjoy soccer as much as I do.” Borrelli said. “Without the volunteers and coaches there would be no soccer in Amherstburg.”

Other events at the fun day included pizza, pop and bouncy castles for the kids. Each player also went home with their own trophy as keep sake for all the memories they had from this season.

After her Squirt team won their game, five year old Katelyn Lovell happily exclaimed “I love soccer.”
