Rivertown Dance Academy proud of 2023-24 season, staying busy over summer

Dancers with the Rivertown Dance Academy (RDA) recently concluded their season but have been staying busy over the summer months.

Children and teenage dancers wrapped up their season and Catherine Cristofaro, an owner and instructor with the RDA believed it was a good one.

“I think this was one of the most successful years for growth, development and teamwork,” said Cristofaro.

Cristofaro said they competed in an American regional competition and four Canadian regional competitions as part of the 2023-24 campaign.

“Many of our dancers are looking into the option of attending a national finals competition,” she stated.

The RDA tried to instill several qualities into its dancers throughout the course of this past season.

“There was a heavy emphasis on kindness, good work ethic, and commitment,” said Cristofaro. “Focusing on these areas allowed for progress in all of our dancers.”

Performers with the Rivertown Dance Academy have been out and about over the summer months as well. They had a performance at the Amherstburg Mind, Body & Soul event, and have been at other events such as Open Air Weekends, Canada Day, the Active Aging Expo and others around the Windsor-Essex County region with more to come.

Cristofaro said the RDA believes dancing heals and the benefits of dance knows no age limits.

The Rivertown Dance Academy is located at 258 Sandwich St. S. in Amherstburg. For more information, call 519-730-1866, e-mail hello@rda.dance or visit their website at www.rivertowndanceacademy.ca.
