Ford City Funnies helping Amherstburg Freedom Museum

A special night of comedy is happening Feb. 24 in the Ford City section of Windsor with a portion of the proceeds from the show being donated to the Amherstburg Freedom Museum.

The February edition of the Ford City Funnies Comedy Show taking place at Club 9 Banquet Hall at 1457 Drouillard Road is one of the many Black History themed events taking place across Windsor-Essex this month.

The live stand-up comedy show will feature talented comedians with ties to the Detroit area. Host Shawn Townsend grew up in Detroit, but currently calls Windsor his home. Feature comedian Bella Hugley is originally from Detroit and is looking forward to a homecoming for fans and friends, as she flies in from Georgia.

Hugley is known for a quick wit, infectious energy, and a knack for finding humor in everyday situations.

Headliner T.Barb is a fast rising comedian, author of two books, a motivational speaker and philanthropist that gives back to the others that need assistance in the Metro Detroit community.

“One of the great things about living in a border city is being able to have great nights of entertainment in two different cities and countries that appeal to people from both sides of the water that separates us,” T.Barb explained. “I am looking forward to headlining a show for my Canadian fans and giving them a night of laughs to remember.”

Tiffany “T.Barb” Barber is a comedian and actress who quit her 14-year social work career to pursue her dreams. Her hilarious stand up, online commentaries, skits and monologues keep her fans thoroughly entertained.

The Detroit native known for her viral, ‘Only In Detroit’ series is a master stand-up comedian who has been on multiple television networks including Amazon Prime, BET Soul, Fox, VICE, Tubi, NBC and ABC News to name a few. She has headlined The Motor City Comedy Festival, The Detroit Women of Comedy festival twice and also participated in the Traverse City Comedy Festival.

T.Barb’s favourite quote is “You Don’t Have To Stay Where You Start,” because she never allowed humble beginnings to dictate her destiny. As a first generation college graduate Tiffany broke the curse of incarceration in her family, never allowing the odds to beat her.

Born and raised in Detroit, she furthered her education and later decided to pursue her dreams of making the world laugh. Always known for keeping a smile, she discovered stand-up comedy and has been blazing stages since!

Ticket information for the Ford City Funnies Comedy Show: $20 in advance online at https://fordcityfunnies.eventbrite.com or $25 at the door (cash only).

A portion of the proceeds raised from the event will be donated to the Amherstburg Freedom Museum, which is located at 277 King St. More information on the museum can be found at www.amherstburgfreedom.org.
