Local man charged with stunt driving

 

A 29-year-old Amherstburg man faces a charge of stunt driving after being stopped on Concession 6 North.

Amherstburg police say that the vehicle, a white 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, was stopped as the driver was allegedly going at “a high rate of speed” on Concession 6 North near County Road 8 last Tuesday around 5:20 p.m.

According to Amherstburg police, the driver was measured on a radar unit to be travelling at 121 km/hr in a posted 60 km/hr zone.

As a result of the vehicle allegedly travelling 61 km/hr over the speed limit, the man was charged with stunt driving and issued a seven-day license suspension. The man’s vehicle was impounded for seven days.
