The Amherst senior girls basketball team took part in the University of Windsor Invitational this past weekend, and won one game and lost two.

In their first game, they took on Mother Teresa from London and battled them tough but came up on the short end of a 43-41 score. A half court heave by Mother Teresa at the buzzer to end the third quarter came back and haunted Amherst in the end. Aleah Marton led the team in scoring with 16 points, Jaylin VandBovenkamp had nine and Robin Kellam had five. Sydney Emerson led the team in rebounds with nine.

In their second game, Amherst took on Sarnia Northern and had a terrible first half and trailed 30-12 at halftime. The Lady Gens came storming back in the third quarter and cut the deficit to just five points but could not overcome a terrible first half and fell 44-38. VandeBovenkamp had 12 points, Kellam had eight and Madison Turner had six. Robin Kellam was the leading rebounder with six.

In their last game, Amherst handled Ursuline College from Chatham easily and coasted to a 46-27 victory. Marton had 11, VandeBovenkamp had nine, Emerson had seven and Kellam had five. Atong Yout led the team in rebounds with five.
