Knobb Hill Dr. joins road closure list

The Town of Amherstburg has announced that Knobb Hill Drive will be closed to all traffic between McLellan Ave. and Whelan Ave., for approximately two weeks.

The closure is to facilitate road reconstruction. The work is anticipated to be completed by June 23.

As part of the next phase of Kingsbridge subdivision, the town states that 175 metres of Knobb Hill Drive will be reconstructed, including bike lanes and a multi-use trail.

The town reminds residents that during construction traffic disruptions may occur and some delays may be experienced. Please slow down and obey all traffic signage.

This closure comes as Meloche Road is also being reconstructed. The town has advised that the section of Meloche Road between Simcoe St. and Lowes Side Road will be closed until November as part of that $4 million project. The town received $2 million in grant funding for the Meloche Road work.

As part of the latter project, those going to the Libro Centre are advised they should start using the temporary entrance located off of Simcoe St., just east of the Meloche Road intersection.
