There may have been little sun on Saturday morning but the smiles of Amherstburg Minor Baseball players kept the streets brightly lit.

Amherstburg Minor Baseball kicked off the 2012 season with the annual Amhertburg Minor Baseball parade.

The pint-sized sluggers took the streets of Amherstburg, proudly displaying their colourful jerseys and eagerly waving to onlookers.

Baseball parade coordinator Bruce Kraler said the parade has been a favorite for the players.

“It’s opening day of baseball,” proclaimed Kraler. “It’s great to see the kids and their parents out having a good time. The kids love a parade.”

Kraler said registration number are roughly where they were last year and stated that Amherstburg Minor Baseball is looking forward to another successful year.

The parade route took the same route as in previous years, starting at Centennial Park and proceeding on Victoria to Simcoe St, right onto Sandwich St, right on to Richmond St then up Richmond St. to Victoria St. and back to Centennial Park.
