AMSA wraps ups season with year-end tournaments

The whistle has blown on another successful Amherstburg Minor Soccer Association (AMSA) season.

On Saturday, the younger division enjoyed an added bonus of a fun fair. In between games teams relaxed by having some fun in bouncy castles.

In years past, AMSA has always provided the meal for its athletes. ASMA president Lisa Dennis tipped her hat and thanked the United Community Credit Union Complex for taking care of that responsibility this year.

“It’s been a great weekend,” said Dennis. “It has been a great year.”

Dennis said AMSA saw roughly 550 athletes participate in soccer this year, which is slightly up from last year.

Dennis also added that she would be stepping down as president after this season.

“I think this is going to be my last year,” she said. “I’ve been doing this for a long time. It’s time to pass the torch.”

However, she noted that she would still be involved with the travel program.
