Amherstburg Police Service investigating Gore St. B&E


The Amherstburg Police Service is investigating a break-and-enter that was reported last Tuesday.

Police state that a home in the 200 block of Gore St. was entered and money taken. There was forced entry, police add, with a door having been kicked in.

It was reported to police around 12:18 p.m. April 4. There currently are no suspects.

Theft from vehicle   Amherstburg police state there was a theft from a vehicle in the 40 block of Main St. It was reported last Tuesday, but police believe the theft occurred overnight.

A remote garage door opener was reported stolen, police state. There was no forced entry into the vehicle.

Amherstburg police remind residents to keep vehicles, homes and garages locked when not in use and keep valuables out of sight.

Accident   A two-vehicle accident on Laird Ave. behind General Amherst High School was also reported last Tuesday. Police say the call came in around 2:30 p.m.

A 51-year-old Amherstburg woman was charged with making an unsafe turn.


Stats   There were 37 tickets handed out between April 3-10 for traffic-related violations. Amherstburg police also responded to ten 911 hang-up calls and nine alarm calls.
