Amherstburg Freedom Museum celebrates “Christmas at the Museum”

The Amherstburg Freedom Museum celebrated the holiday season Dec. 16 with a Christmas concert and get-together in the Nazrey African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Members and friends of the museum gathered to listen to vocalist Renee King-Jackson perform at the church located just outside the Freedom Museum. King-Jackson sang a mixture of religious and traditional Christmas songs to around 50 attendees, who enthusiastically clapped and sang along.

Those who took part in the Christmas tradition were also treated to a dessert buffet and able to request songs during King-Jackson’s second set of music. The Amherstburg Freedom Museum will be closed for the holidays until Jan. 5.
