Amherstburg Chamber of Commerce prepares for Mardi Gras celebration

The Amherstburg Chamber of Commerce (ACOC) has start preparations for the third Annual Mardi Gras celebration.

Mardi Gras will once again take place on Boblo Island on June 16 at 4:30 until midnight.

“This is a really fun event,” said ACOC general manager Karen Girard. “This is our chance to get out and network in a laid back atmosphere.”

According to Girard the ACOC has 700 tickets available, with tickets going on sale for ACOC member on April 9 and then will be open to the general public the following week.

Tickets are $55, which included appetizers, dinner and live entertainment, provided by “Dream Catcher.” Tickets can be purchased at the ACOC office, which is located on the second floor of the Gordon House.

There will also be raffle tickets and door prizes. Girard noted that there would also be a prize for best Mardi Gras costume.

Girard mentioned the Mardi Gras Celebration has “quite a few” sponsor right now, however they are still looking for more.

A portion of he proceeds will be donated to the House of Shalom.
