On Sunday March 16th 2014 AMA Sportsman Association kicked off the 2014 3D Archery Shooting Season with their annual “Big Buck Sunday & 3D Archery Shoot. ”

It was a cold but sunny day with an unwanted snow squall. There were 40 shooters from thirteen years old to senior adults that braved the weather to test their shooting skills and shoot at the thirty life size 3D animals targets. The targets ranged from bears to deer and turkey’s to big horn goats, all in hopes of earning a AMA Sportsmen Pin and bragging rights for their fine or not so fine shooting.

Meanwhile back in the warmth of the clubhouse on Lowes Side Road, over 300 enjoyed a fine breakfast and lunch prepared by a few members of the Sportsman Club. There was an official scorer there to score the various antlers brought in by local deer hunters. No one could pass up the opportunity to browse and purchase some of the many items on display in the back hall of the club by fourteen plus locals vender. They displayed and sold their merchandise which included hunting clothes, T-shirts, archery equipment, hunting and fishing tackle, rodent traps, hand craft wooden and metal hunting and fishing art pieces, plus tons more.

Be sure to check the paper for the date and time of the event so you don’t miss next year!
