19-year-old charged in connection with B&E’s

 

 

Amherstburg police state that following a rash of vehicle and vehicle and garage break ins, a 19-year-old male party was arrested at approximately 3 a.m. last Friday after plainclothes officers observed him near the intersection of Richmond and Boardwalk, in what is commonly known as the Monopoly subdivision.

Police logo-webOfficers observed the male party allegedly entering several driveways and on Richmond St. attempting entry into vehicles.

Officers arrested the male as he was exiting a driveway on Boardwalk, police state.

Upon arrest, the male was found to be allegedly in possession of alcohol and assorted currency.

Investigation revealed the alcohol was stolen from a home in the 400 block of Richmond Street.

The 19-year-old, a resident of County Rd. 11 in McGregor, will attend provincial court Sept. 17 to answer to charges of theft, possession of stolen property and “Prowl at Night.”

The Amherstburg Police Service will continue the investigation and determine if more charges are warranted.
