“Tales and Tastes” program to offer tasty options

Special to the RTT

The “Tales and Tastes” of  October in Amherstburg, features  Harvest menus on Wednesday’s showcasing locally sourced product, wines and ales and the popular Ghost Tours presented by “Monkey with a Typewriter Theatre Company” will be on tap.

Rob Tymec from Monkey with a Typewriter will be visiting some of the participating restaurants to share ghost stories with the guests and to promote his ghost tours which run every Friday with brave souls meeting at the Towne Square fountain.

Indulging in “Tales and Tastes” is one way customers can participate in a very unique customer rewards program as well!  The participating Amherstburg restaurants along with the support of the Amherstburg Chamber of Commerce will be presenting “Amherstburg Passport Rewards” which will be kicked off with “Tales and Tastes”.

Restaurants have already geared up for the fall promotion.  Patrons will receive stamps on the passport for each entrée (both lunch and dinner) that they purchase at participating venues over the duration of this event.

Patrons will need to earn 3 stamps in their passports from participating restaurants to be eligible for a chance to win a prize package, consisting of $50 gift cards from each participating restaurant (8 in total) at the conclusion of the event. Draw date for the prize will be December 12, 2011.

“Amherstburg has become a restaurant mecca with so much to choose from. The Tales and Tastes event is an exciting project where each restaurant is really taking their fall menus with themed entertainment to the next level. It will be a fun and interesting experience for patrons” stated Chef Laura Clarke–Giberson from participating Caldewell’s Grant restaurant.

The event kicks off Wednesday, October 5, 2011.
