On Saturday night at the Libro Centre, the Midget Majors continued their regular season with a game against a strong AA team from Kent. With a great crowd on hand, the Midget Majors would open the scoring five minutes into the second period with a shorthanded goal off the stick of Jacob DeLuca, after an outstanding effort by Cole Zelle to create the turnover. Kent would even the score five minutes later after a defensive breakdown by the Midget Majors. David Desormeaux would restore the one goal lead for the Stars with just 37 seconds left in the second period, with assists from Max Clifford and Isaac Hammond.

Franco Morrone put one home for the Stars to give them a two goal lead five minutes into the third period, after picking up a loose puck in the neutral zone and streaking down the wing. Jacob Menard would secure a very important 4-1 victory with an empty net goal late in the third. Daniel Miceli was solid in net for the Midget Majors as the win improved their season record to 11-4-1.

The Midget Majors hope to continue their early season success this coming weekend against some of the best Midget Teams in the province. Check out amherstburghockey.com for a full tournament schedule.
